JUNIOR TENNIS
Tennis in not only a challenging physical sport but also one which utilizes strategic thinking and problem solving skills.  The benefits from playing tennis which range from discipline, physical well-being, and increased confidence can be reaped in a child's future for a lifetime.  As such, we promote tennis as a lifetime sport and a way of life.
Our junior programs are very team oriented to make learning more fun and comfortable.  Juniors can learn from each other's strengths and weaknesses so as to improve more quickly.  Each of our junior training programs have a holistic focus so as to develop well rounded players with no exploitable weaknesses.  We incorporate other sports such as soccer, baseball and boxing in our training programs to develop footwork and hand-eye coordination which are an integral part of tennis. We are extremely results oriented and take pride in our students’ successes.
We offer three programs grouped according to level of play and/or age:

Mini Program

As the name suggests, this program is designed for our beginner youngsters ages 4 to 8.  Here we use progressive tennis (mini nets, mini court and pressure less balls) to teach basic tennis skills while keeping it fun and exciting with games.  The focus will be on stroke mechanics and ball control.  Lots of feeding and movement exercises will be used.  The final goal is to be able to keep a 10 ball rally on both forehand and backhand sides and hit 6 out of 10 serves.  Tennis rules, conduct and etiquette will also be taught.

Premier Program

This program is designed for intermediate to advance players ages 8 to 17 who have played tennis for at least 2 years.  The overall goal of this program is to get the player ready for competition (i.e. league play, OTA tournaments).  The training will consist of 3 elements; mechanical, physical conditioning and strategic thinking.  The mechanical element will focus on improving stroke production via feeding, drills and demos.  Video analysis of both students and ATP/WTA players will be used.  The physical conditioning will include on and off court exercises to improve muscular and cardiovascular development as well as footwork and hand-eye coordination.  The strategic thinking element will be comprised of shot selection, ball placement, offensive/defensive tactics and transition tennis.  This program is highly motivational and goal oriented.  Weaknesses are identified early and worked on to increase confidence.

Shooting Stars Program

The Shooting Stars program is our high performance program geared towards players ages 10 to 18 who have achieved a top 30 provincial ranking.  The overall goal of this program is to improve their ranking and get the players ready for university scholarships and international tournaments.  The training is rigorous and includes off court strength training and mental preparation.  A team setting will be enforced so that players can train together and push one another.  The focus will be on efficiency and accuracy of stroke production, match play scenarios, set plays and shot selection.  An aggressive style of tennis will be taught and guest hitting partners will be provided for variation in practice.  For in town tournaments, transportation, warm-ups, game plan, match statistics and analysis, and post match review will be provided.
